COLCA VALLEY
Only at 160 Km. (100 Miles) from Arequipa city for an asphalted road: We find the famous and famous COLCA VALLEY.
With a lot of story and beauty: In Colca Valley we'll appreciate thousands of PRE-Inca Terraces still cultivated, nice typical villages with colonial churches, communities, breathtaking sceneries, the deep of the canyon, and the Majestic “Flight of The Condor”. Thermal springs & pools, mountains and volcanoes, birds, alpacas, vicuñas, llamas; gently people with colorful embroidered dresses, nice lodges, excellent food and of course… FISHING.
There are various places for fishing near Colca Valley, probably the best one is SAMACOTA LAKE,1:30 hrs from Chivay (the capital of Colca) and of course we have beautiful rivers and lakes of southern Perú.
FISHING SAMACCOTA LAKE
The best option - "Private lake".
Fishing at its finest in this beautiful high Andean Private Lake. About 3 hours from Arequipa city and 1:15 hrs. from Colca Valley. At 4,600 m / 15,000 Ft. Spectacular scenery of the Andes, birds, Vicuñas, alpacas.
Unforgettable experience; plenty of good size figthing trout and some trophys. The experience is magnificent; fishing from the shore or from drift boats; avoiding pollution we don’t use motorized boats; excellent for streamers, nymphs, dry flies, live baits and spinners.
In the morning we'll start casting with small nymphs like copper john, bead head hare’s, pheasant tail and emergers in the clear waters of the lake; after noon, streamers are very appetizing like wooly buggers as well as dry flies like the royal wulff, adams, caddis and Stone flies.
For Spinning they preffer small colorful spinners. Our fishing guides will give you all the instructions and suggestions for fishing and safeness, and of course we’ll be happy to give beginners brief fishing lessons.

3:30 p.m. Return to Arequipa.

One day fishing private lake & one day the river.

Beautiful program: We'll fish one day in Samaccota lake for fighting and good size trout and the next day we'll go to a beautiful river (Small trout but very smart, you'll need all your skills to chatch'em. Special for nymphs and after noon for dry flies. A nice & quiet place in the Andes.
** Or combine: One day fishing Samaccota lake and one day touring the famous Colca Valley...
In the river we will fish from the river bank. We fish in the upper valley on the head of the river, no polution.
Here we'll try with small flies, specially nymphs and/or small spinners.
OFF ROAD PROGRAM:
One day fishing Samaccota Lake and one day fish a high Andean creek (Spring creek). at 4,450m /14,600 ft. Close to the volcanoes.50m. / 14,600 ft.
Beautiful medium size trout, we have to be careful & quite, they are very sensitive, very fast and smart. We reccommend to use 2 or 3 wt. rods, 4, 5, or 6x tippet, DT line. Dry flies or Euro-nymphing
